James Earl McGuire, age 81 of Haleyville passed from this world to his heavenly home on February 12, 2024 at Brookwood Medical Center after a brief illness.
James was a master electrician. His work can be seen in many places around Haleyville and surrounding areas. James started his own business in February 1979 and was able to pass that down to his son in 2022.
He attended Shiloh Missionary Baptist in Haleyville. James loved to fish on the Tennessee River and watch Westerns. He enjoyed anything antique, especially antique car shows. James always told everyone about his chihuahua, Chaci. You could often find them together on the recliner, sound asleep.
James is survived by his son, Michael (Donna) McGuire; grandson, Daniel (Lindsay) Feltman. Two great granddaughters, Emmalinde and Koralynn Feltman; brothers-in-law, Benny (Barbara) Preston, Rayburn Whitman, and Louis Wallace; sister-in-law, Wanda Owen, a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn McGuire; parents, Parker and Eula McGuire; sisters, Ernestine Whitman and Jean Wallace; and brother-in-law, Lawton Owen.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 14, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville. Where the service will be held February 15, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be at Winston Memorial Cemetery. Brother Billy Myrick and Brother Buford Parker will officiate. Pallbearers will be Daniel Feltman, Brandon Preston, Braten Dill, Cody Miles, David Crittenden, and Heath Garrison.
