James E. Wilemon, lifelong resident of Itawamba and Lee counties, died Monday, May 22 from a heart attack.
James was a successful businessman, he enjoyed traveling, and he loved gardening. But, his passion was serving the Lord.
All of his adult life was spent serving the Lord as Deacon, Sunday School Adult teacher, and youth leader. His greatest joy was teaching Adult IV Sunday School with Walter Scott at Harrisburg Baptist Church. He was always there for so many who were in need.
James is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Nell Wilemon, his daughters Donna Sullivan of Jonesboro, Louisiana and Nelda Clayton (Claude) of Tupelo. Grandson Drew Bryson (Katie) of Conway, Arkansas; Granddaughter Anna Mask (Toby) of Tupelo. Five precious great granddaughters Bella, Layla, Olivia, Maggie, and Sarah Helen.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Vada Wilemon, brother Bob Wilemon, sister Yvonne Chilcoat Hayes, son-in-law Clyde Sullivan.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services honoring James’ life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Rev. David Smith officiating.
