Mr. James E. Moran, Jr., known by family and friends as Jim or Little Mo, died suddenly Friday, January 13, 2023 at North MS Medical Center. He was born July 3, 1951, in New Albany, MS to James and Peggy Moran. He was a 1969 graduate of Tupelo High School. He worked most of his adult life in the furniture manufacturing industry before retiring. He was a talented drummer and played for Gene Simmons when recording Haunted House. Jim loved music, bowling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Peggy Moran, and sister, Linda Gail Justice Moran.

Jim is survived by his son, Thomas Moran of Tupelo; grandchildren, Chelsea Smith, Amber Crum (Dylan), and Courtney Moran; Great grandchildren, Hunter Hester, Madelyn Crum, Luke and Parker Smith; one sister, Lisa Moran Crosby (Syd); niece, Sydney Crosby; special friends, Michele Moran, Haley and Trae Rodgers, and Bro. James.

A memorial service celebrating Jim’s life will be at 6 PM, Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Palmetto Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Webb officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 PM – service time at the church.
