Funeral Services for Mr. James E. “Jimmy” Williamson, age 78 of Ashland, will he held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Ashland at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Stephen Young officiating. Burial will follow at the Ashland City Cemetery.

Mr. Williamson passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at his home. Born in Anniston, Mr. Williamson graduated High School from Clay County High School, and attended Southern Union State Community College. He was the owner and operator of Western Auto for around 20 years, worked for the Ashland Housing Authority in the maintenance department for about 15 years, and finished his work career at Integrity Cabinets, working a handful of different jobs over his time spent there. Outside of work, He enjoyed fishing, visiting with his friends on Sunday afternoons, and was a loving Father and Grandfather. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Williamson; two daughters: Terri Grogan (Joe) and Dana Young (Stephen); one daughter-in-law, Michelle Williamson, all of Ashland; six grandchildren: Shannah Mathews (Greg), Courtney Campbell (Wes), Ivy Williamson, Jonas Williamson, Bella Young and Avery Young; one great-granddaughter, Skipper Campbell, plus extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents: J.C. Williamson and Mildred Kirk Williamson, and one son, Jamie Williamson.

Active Pallbearers will be Willie Pruett, Bryon Zachery, Randy Mitchell, Butch Sprayberry, David Williams, Danny Paul Browning, and Ricky Short.

His visitation will take place on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 6:00 P.M. until 8 P.M. He will remain at Benfield Funeral Home in Ashland from 8:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M.
