James E. "Jimmy"  Brown, Jr.

James E. “Jimmy” Brown, Jr. passed away on June 2, 2022 at Baptist Hospital in Columbus, MS. He was an attorney in the local community for 43 years. He loved spending time with his children and was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed flying airplanes and golfing. Some of his other hobbies included listening to 60’s music, driving his cars and boating. Jimmy was very giving, honest and loved helping people. He had several nicknames that he went by, such as “Not Guilty”, “Downtown Jimmy Brown”, “Causeway”, and “Hollywood”.

He was preceded in death by his father, James E. “Ed” Brown, Sr.

He is survived by his loving children, Savannah Brown of West Point, MS and Brett Brown (Deanna) of Gulf Shores, AL; mother, Bulah Dale Brown; and sisters, Mitzi Stribling and Dale Montgomery.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with burial immediately following in Memorial Garden Park in Starkville.
