James E. ArnoldO…Z팴ÒX©James E. Arnold was born in Savannah, Tennessee on May 16, 1922, the son of the late Edwin Melton and Lula Alexander Arnold.

James Arnold was a veteran, entrepreneur, and an active member of his community. He served in the US Army – Air Force from 1943-1945, during W.W.II as a 2nd Lieutenant Pilot. He was the owner and operator of Western Auto in Savannah, Tennessee. James was a member of the Savannah Church of Christ, Rotary Club, and the Chamber of Commerce. He was also on the Advisory Board of Freed Hardeman University and the Tennessee Aeronautics Commission. During his service on the Tennessee Aeronautics Board he served with Governor Winfield Dunn.

James departed this life on Friday, July 25, 2014, at the age of 92 years, 1 month, and 29 days.

He is survived by his children, Ann Hunt, Eddie Arnold and wife, Teresa all of Savannah, Tennessee, Dan Arnold of Columbus, Ohio, Laura Flatt and husband, Andy of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Amy O’Bannon, Jay Arnold, Emily Johnson, David Hunt, Ben Flatt, and Elisabeth Flatt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Joanne Scott Arnold; sisters, Loey Fulton and Betty Sue Holder.
