James Dwight “Jimmy” Rogers, age 76, of Town Creek, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 11, 2024.  His family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Jimmy was born in Columbia, TN on August 19, 1947.  He graduated from Columbia Central High School and received a BS from Middle Tennessee State University.  Following graduation, he worked for Tennessee Valley Authority while residing in Chattanooga, TN and Columbia, TN.  Upon retiring from TVA, Jimmy capitalized on his love for fishing as a professional guide on lakes across the southeast.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dean Rogers, and sister, Judy Rogers Fowler.

He is survived by his loving sister, Marcia Lynn (Mike) of Heath, TX; brother-in-law, Jim Fowler of McDonald, TN; nephew, Jay Fowler; four nieces, Kilbrey Fowler, Kara Gibson, Christy Carpenter, and Aimee Pratt; and many cousins.

Jimmy’s two loves of fish and family were evident in his providing crappie to feed all the cousins at the annual fish fry the night before celebrating the Fourth of July.  He was an avid athlete, playing baseball and basketball through high school, and was competitive in any sport he tried.
