James Dixie “J.D.” Durham, 76, of New Hope, passed away Saturday. He was a former local business owner and retired from the HVAC industry in 2016.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lester & Pearl Durham; brothers, Robert Durham , C.L. Durham, and Buddy Durham; and sisters, Katie Mae Durham, Clara Walker, Jean Womack, Peggie Lindsey, and Martha Atchley.
Surviving are wife, Jo Ann Durham; children, Anita & (Jerry) Hubbard and Susan & (Donald) Pruitt; grandchildren, Byron & (Stacie) Hubbard, Brandy & (Bo) Brooks, and Jasmine Pruitt; great grandchildren, Blake Daley, Harlie Lloyd, and Hallie Hughes; and great-great grandchild, Stetson Hughes, and sisters, Lela Malone and Lettie Harris.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Hubbard, Donald Pruitt, Bo Brooks, Jason Durham, Michael Durham, and Todd Hughes.
Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday at 1:00 PM with Rev. Doug Browner officiating.
Interment will be in the Walker Cemetery.
