Mr. James Darrell Kolwyck, age 87, was born July 6, 1936, in Dyer County, TN and passed away peacefully June 10, 2024, at Brookdale Jackson Oaks in Jackson, TN. He was formerly from Trenton, TN before moving to Eva, TN. The family has chosen cremation, and a celebration of life will be Sunday June 16, 2024, from 1pm until 4pm in the chapel of Shelton Funeral Home.
Mr. Kolwyck served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company with over 35 years of service. He loved fishing and hunting of all types. He coached many youths in baseball in Trenton, TN. He loved to play golf and baseball in his younger years.
Mr. Kolwyck was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Kolwyck; parents, W. W. Kolwyck and Annie Lois (Asbridge) Kolwyck; a brother, Frank Kolwyck; and two sisters, Louise Tucker and Doris Escue.
Mr. Kolwyck is survived by his son, Ricky Kolwyck and wife Tammy; a grandson, Derek Kolwyck and wife Danielle; three great-grandchildren, Cason, Abigail, and Jaxon; a brother, Ray Kolwyck; two sisters, Vanice Dotson and Charlotte Hunter; many nieces and nephews; two stepchildren, Jeff Nobles and Tammy Nobles; six step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
The family wants to thank Brookdale Jackson Oaks Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care nurses and caregivers, Gentiva nurses, and Trenton Health and Rehabilitation Center nurses and caregivers for his care.
