James “Cranny” Cranford, 79, passed peacefully from this world on December 17, 2021. He was surrounded by family and friends. Cranny was a member of Dwight Baptist Church. He attended Emma Sansom High School and was employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 40 years. Visitation will be Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 4 to 6 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 21, 2021 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forrest Cemetery.
Mr. Cranford was preceded in death by his parents, Paul W. Cranford and Mary Jo Dunlavy; and his in-laws, Rader and Iru Turner. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Margaret “Tiger” Cranford; children, Marla Isbell (Bill), and Brandon Cranford (Pam); his beloved granddaughters, Macy Rae Isbell and Shelby Elizabeth Cranford; sister, Brenda Frym, brother-in-law, Michael Turner; sister-in-law, Diane Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the employees at Oak Landing Memory Care Unit for exceptional care during his stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Dwight Baptist Church.
