The graveside service for Mr. James Clyde Turley, age 73 of Ashland, was held on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Poplar Springs Cemetery with Bro. Brian Moore officiating.

Mr. Turley passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020 at his home. A lifelong resident of Clay County, he worked as a saw-hand in several local sawmills and also worked at Wellborn Cabinets.

Mr. Turley is survived by his wife, Rebecca Turley of Ashland; children, Eric (Sally) Turley, Donna (Tony) Hegler, Aaron (Tina) Killgore and Randy Bishop (Rhonda); siblings, Betty White, Minnie Hughes, Annie (Don) Young, Ruby Hermon, Willie Turley and Larry Turley; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Hoyt Lee Turley and Vernell Gill Turley; siblings, Edward Lee Turley, Tommy Henry Turley and Hoyt Turley Jr.

Mr. Turley’s pallbearers were Jason Hermon, Jimmy Hermon, Bert Griffin, Hurbert Mitchell, Tim Boswell and Randell Haynes.

Honorary pall bearers will be grandchildren, nieces and nephews and members of Compassus Hospice.

Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville is in charge of these arrangements.
