James Carrol Steele, 89, of Ardmore, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at his home.
Mr. Steele lived in the Ardmore area for a majority of his life where he was a former deacon at the First Baptist Church of Ardmore. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching westerns and football, as well as spending time outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Lois Ann Steele, his parents, Asa George Steele and Bessie May Doty Steele, one son, Jimmy Dale Steele, one Son-in-Law, Steve Bailey, one brother, George Steele, as well as one sister, Jeanie Clay.
He is survived by one son, David (Tammy) Steele, two daughters, Lisa (Terry) Mullins and Karen Bailey, four grandchildren: Adam (Kate), Jordan (Leah), Richard, and Michael (Courtney), as well as one great grandchild, Weston Bailey.
There will be a visitation held for Mr. Steele at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A Chapel Service is scheduled to follow visitation with service time beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Gatlin Cemetery.
