A graveside funeral service for James Carlos Jones, affectionately known as J.C., age 91, of Orlando, FL, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Lincoln Cemetery, with Rev. Bruce McVey officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
J.C. was born on February 6, 1934, in Madison County, AL, to the late Claude and Flossie Stewart Jones. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for eight years before working with Brinks Armored Vehicles for 11 years. He later embarked on a fulfilling career with Walt Disney World in Orlando, where he eventually retired. Beyond his professional life, J.C. had a deep love for the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and took great pride in his yard and garden. Each year, he cultivated a large garden, finding joy in growing and nurturing plants. J.C. passed away on February 21, 2025, at AdventHealth Hospice in Altamonte Springs, FL.
Mr. Jones is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Jean Marie Bain Jones of Casselberry, FL; his granddaughter, Erica Kristin (David) Nathanson of Orlando, FL; his adored great-grandchildren, Maddox Nathanson and Caroline Nathanson; and his sister, Reva Hazelwood Reynolds of Huntsville, AL. In addition to his parents, J.C. was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Carlos Jones; sister, Ofaline Tucker; and brothers, Buford Jones, Claude “Junior” Jones, and Bobby Hazelwood.
