James Calvin Teeples age 89 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Teeples was born January 31, 1924 in Limestone County to Jim Thomas Teeples and Flora Myrtle Steelman Teeples.
Services for Mr. Teeples are Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Friday, October 11, 2013 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Stanley McNatt and David Harwell officiating.
He was a member of Hays Mill Church of Christ. He was an Air Force veteran of WWII. He is retired from Teeples Garage where he was the Owner and Operator. He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 49.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hazel Black Teeples; son, Larry Teeples and wife Tamara; daughter, Barbara Teeples; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Benton Black and wife Louise; his pet dog, Alli.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Flora Teeples; 4 brothers; 3 sisters.
Pallbearers are Ray Presley, Larry Leopard, Robert Emerson, Charles White, Wesley Griffin and Dennis Black. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Stroud, Mike Davis, Billy Black and Donnie Black.
