James Bybee James Bybee, 86, retired employee of R.D. Herbert in Nashville and resident of Pillow Due Lane, died Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Hardison Cemetery on Rock Springs Road with Reverend Tony Brown officiating. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.

The family suggests memorials to the Maury County Animal Shelter, 1233 Mapleash Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born May 8, 1934 in Williamson County, he was the son of the late Samuel J. Bybee and the late Ella D. Woods. On June 27, 1989, he married Janie Carol Johnson Bybee who preceded him in death December 19, 2020. Mr. Bybee served in the United States Army and was a Mason.

Survivors include sons, Terrence Bybee of Columbia; Jimmy Bybee, Jr. of Mountain Home, Arizona; daughter, Sherry Bowers of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren, Campbell Bybee of Columbia; Mackenzie Bybee of Columbia; John Bowers of Gilbert, Arizona; Bryan Bowers of Gilbert, Arizona; step children, John Nelms of St. Louis, Missouri; Sharon Nelms Patterson of St. Louis, Missouri; and special friends, Sue and Jimmy Campbell of Columbia.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Campbell, Campbell Bybee, Jimmy Bybee, Jr., Terrence Bybee, Mackenzie Bybee, and John Nelms.
