James Brian “Butter” Lofton

Brian "Butter" Lofton Profile Photo James Brian “Butter” Lofton, 53, of the Richmond Community, passed away on January 9, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, with his daughter, mom, sister, aunt, and many family and friends by his side. He was born October 26, 1970 in Tupelo to Doyle and Carolyn Lofton.

Brian had one daughter, Anna Grace. He attended Mooreville School and later went on to work for Coca-Cola Bottling Company for over 20 years. Brian was known by “Butter” to all of his family and friends. He loved everyone in his life immensely. He enjoyed playing music, fishing at Mills Creek where he spent a lot of his time, hunting, and loved being surrounded by all his friends and family. Brian will be remembered by his infectious smile and fun personality.

Brian leaves behind his one and only daughter Anna Grace Lofton; his mother, Carolyn Lofton; his sister Tammy (Jason) Marcy, all of the Richmond Community; his aunt, Margaret Lofton, of the Eggville Community; He was called Uncle Butter by his nieces; Beth Graham (Jamie), Amanda Schumpert (Brandon), Samantha Keith (Cody); 4 great nieces, Jada Walton, Emma Claire Keith, Salem Graham, Kathryn “Kat”  Keith and 2 great nephews, Elijah “Eli” Graham and Hunter Keith.

He also leaves behind bonus family, Dorris Fields, Susan “Susie” Loden, Amy Caples, Brian Randle (Robyn), and Brad Marcy (Hollie) along with many other aunts, cousins, and other friends who became family. Brian was proceeded in death by his dad; Doyle Lofton.

The family will celebrate Brian’s life at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Richmond Baptist Church with Ricky Pierce officiating.  Visitation will be 11a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Eggville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brian Randle, Brad Marcy, Jeff Roberts, John Mark Peters, Garrett Franks, and Scott Wood.
