James Brad Durr – Obituary

jamesA Celebration of Life for James Brad Durr, 46, of Decatur will be noon Thursday at St. James C.P. Church in America with Pastor Michael Jones officiating and inhumation to follow in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be today from 11-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Brad, the son of Mary Evans Durr and the late James Durr, was born Feb. 19, 1969 in Decatur and departed this life on Nov. 30, 2015 in Decatur.
He was a 1987 graduate of Austin High School followed by college at Calhoun Community College and Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia where he played basketball.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Durr and sister, Deidra Harris.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Durr of Decatur; two sons, Devonte Durr, Devren Durr and their mother, Kertina Rucker of Smyrna, Georgia; three sisters, Brenda Jefferson, Sandra Durr and Etta Michelle Durr, all of Decatur; two brothers, Anthony (Wanda) Clay of Decatur and Michael Clay of Bessemer; a special daughter, Jasmine Cater of Decatur; a special friend, Kathy Jones of Decatur; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
