James “Bone” Robbins was born June 27, 1942 in Jackson, TN, the son of the late Jay Pan Robbins and Mable Claire Walker Robbins. He departed this life on June 7, 2024 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 11 Months, 11 Days.
James was united in marriage to Brenda Carol Sweat on November 5, 1965. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Selmer, TN. He served in the Tennessee National Guard for 6 years.
James forged a path of hard work and dedication. From his time at Owens Corning to becoming the proud owner of Finger Broom and Mop Company, he approached each endeavor with diligence and integrity.
Family was everything to James. He enjoyed introducing his five grandsons to his hobbies. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, gardening, or anything his grandchildren, great grandchildren, son-in-laws or nephews came up with.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Robbins; two daughters, Amy Robbins Butler and husband Doug, Kelley Robbins Caswell and husband Mike all of Selmer, TN; five grandchildren: Douglas Lain Butler and wife Lynleigh of Selmer, TN, Daniel Tate Butler of Selmer, TN, Logan James Williams and wife Minuet of Spangdahlem, Germany (Air Force), Dalton Blane Caswell and wife Kelsey of Yuma, TN, Riley Cooper Caswell of Selmer, TN; three great grandchildren: Douglas Layton Butler, Lainey Claire Butler, Drake Layne Caswell; three sisters: Lillie Terry, Jennie Mooney, Dorothy Jay Goodrum; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Robbins was preceded in death by five sisters: Carolyn Young, Shirley Ann Smith, Constance Marie Robbins, Mary Mildred Robbins, Anita Irene Robbins; three brothers: Jack Robbins, Gene Robbins, Billie Joe Robbins.
