James B. “Snag” Puckett – Obituary

James B. “Snag” Puckett of Tuscumbia passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the age of 91. His visitation will be Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Wayne Green officiating. Burial will be in Burns Cemetery.
Snag was a native of Allsboro and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War and World War II. He retired from Reynolds Alloy after 30 years as a furnace operator and was a member of the Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife: Beatrice Puckett; sons: Paul Wayne and Sammy Puckett; parents: Benjamin and Addie Puckett; brothers: Edgar, Hubert, Howard, Ray and Pride; and sister: Verdie Corsbie.
He is survived by his sons: Jimmy (Judy), J.R. (Lois) and Danny (Cathy); daughter: Sandra Puckett; sister: Lois Cummings; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Shane, Scott, Joey and Jay Puckett, Bobby Hyde and Danny Dover. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Ray James, Alton Nicholson, Wayne Wright and Johnny Howard.
The family would like to thank Helen Keller Home Healthcare and Hospice of North Alabama Nurses Lori Knight, Lindsey Rideout and Machelle Williams.
