James Athel “Sleepy” Kimbrough, 76, of Tuscumbia, died June 29, 2012.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel, with burial at Crooked Oak Cemetery. Shane Swinney will officiate.
Sleepy worked at Robbins for 44 years. He was a charter member of Living Faith Church and later was a member of Launch Point Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five of his siblings, Wallace, Wilson, Donald and Miranda Kimbrough and Bessie Malone.
Survivors include his children, Jamie Kimbrough and wife, Candace, of Tuscumbia, and Stacey Cole and husband, David, of Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Amanda, Casey, Sawyer and Conner Mac Kimbrough, Joshua Cole and wife, Anna Marie, and Danielle and Sarah Cole; two great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Kimbrough and wife, Mary Joyce, of Tuscumbia; sisters, Estelle DeVaney, of Tuscumbia, Geraline Meadows and husband, Harry, of Muscle Shoals, and Regina Suddith and husband, Don, of Russellville.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Taylor, Albert McGuyer, Ricky Rikard and Charles Pullen.
