Mr. Pitman was born July 8, 1945 in Alabama to James Arnold Pitman, Sr. and Alma Ruth Cook Pitman. His parents precede him in death as well as his wife, Martha Fahrubel Pitman, one daughter, Melissa Ruth Pitman, two sisters, Dianne Hite and Laura Weaver and one nephew, Remington Pitman.
Mr. Pitman was a member of Berea Baptist Chruch.
Survivors include two daughters, Tracie Lynn Harrison (Nick) of Elmore, AL; Darla Ann Tillery (Martin) of Lester; two brothers, Dr. Robert Pitman of Salem; Lamar Pitman (Jada) of Natalia, TX; one sister, Patricia Pitman of Athens; three grandchildren, Tyler Wayne Mott, Cyle James Calvert, Thomas Hayden Harrison; four great-grandchildren, Jayden, Ella, Emma and Gage Mott. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
The funeral service will be Monday, January 8, 2024 at 3 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with visitation one hour before the service. The burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Mott, C.J. Calvert, Hayden Harrison, Jayden Mott, Martin Tillery and Nick Harrison.
