James Anthony Vasquez, 74, died peacefully at his home in Shannon surround by the love of his family. James was born in Hartford, CT on November 13, 1949 to the late Salvatore and Mary Jane Viola Vasquez. He was raise in Hartford and moved to Florida for a time. He eventually settled in the Pontocola community of Lee County around 1990. He met and married the love of his life, Billie Gilbert Vasquez in 1998.

James was a man of many talents. His talent for assembling wooden models of boats and cars and of crafts was a gift. The pieces were so small that it took a very steady hand to assembly these pieces of art. He was known for his WWII dioramas. He loved reading books and especially history and WWII history. James enjoyed his real cars, like his Cadillac. James was just a busy person, whom after retiring from Wal-Mart spent many of his days looking for his next project or loving the animals at home.

James is survived by his wife Billie Vasquez, his daughter Nicole Vasquez, his step children Ryan Wilson, Kayla Wilson and Scott Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents Salvatore and Mary Jane Vasquez and his step daughter Christina Wilson Berberena.
