James Allen Hopper – Obituary

Funeral service for James Allen Hopper, 76, of Cotaco will be Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craye Hall officiating. Burial will be in Valhermoso Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hopper, who died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Summerford Nursing Home, was born April 17, 1937, in Morgan County to William Alexander Hopper and Ada Lamour Brooks Hopper. He was a member and the chairman of deacons at Valhermoso Baptist Church. He retired from Dunlop Tire in 1998 after 29 years of service. Mr. Hopper was an avid Alabama fan and for that reason his family request that those attending his service wear Alabama apparel. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Turk Hopper, Robert “Red” Hopper and Arnold Hopper; and by one sister, Flora Goins.

He is survived by his wife, Arline Maze Hopper; two sons, Allen Hopper and Ronnie Hopper of Cotaco; and by one daughter, Kim Collins of Somerville. He has four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Henry, Donald Henry, Bobby Scott, Jimmy Scott, Adam Hall and Tyler Hopper.
