James Alfred Smith was born June 19, 1936 and passed on December 14, 2023 at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing Home of natural causes.
James Smith spent his earlier years working for Southern Railway then going into business for himself in the auto body business.
James was always known for his outgoing and friendly personality. His loved playing the guitar, dancing and playing checkers.
James Smith is preceded in death by his father, William Floyd Smith, his mother, Avery Smith, brother Aubrey Glen Smith, sister Louis Daily, Martha Hayes, sons, Terry Smith and Phillip Smith, and daughter, Beverly Kaye Smith.
James Smith is survived by his daughter Jana (Smith) Pennington, grandsons, Blain, Dustin, and Brandon Davenport and Jordan Smith, great-grandsons, DJ Davenport, Eli and Hunter Smith, Brayden Remsburg.
Visitation is Monday, December 18 at 1:00 with Funeral to follow at 2:00.
Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
