James Albert Hill, 70, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023. He was born on June 30, 1953 in Lowndes County to the late Garvin and Mary Elizabeth Chaffin Hill. James grew up in Greenwood Springs and attended Caledonia School. He worked hard his entire life logging and sawmilling.
James is survived by his sister in law, Mary Hill, Houston; nephews, John Spruill (Rebecca) of Houston and Haze Spruill of Aberdeen; great niece and nephew, Brittany Spruill, Christopher Spruill.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his sisters, Polly Fay and Martha Banks; brothers, Thomas Fred Hill, Buddy Paul Hill and Ernie Lee Hill.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Easter Cemetery in Greenwood Springs with Sister Rebecca Spruill officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 PM on Sunday.
