James Alan Adkins, 66, of Collinsville, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 in Gadsden Regional Medical Center. He was born May 18, 1956 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late James Green Adkins and Mary Nell Wilson Adkins. He graduated from Western Michigan University where he was a member of the marching band. An accomplished musician, he served at Collinsville United Methodist Church as pianist and worked at Collinsville Healthcare in patient activities.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 22nd at Harvest Center with Pastor Derrell Rackard, Pastor Caleb Rackard, and Pastor Carol Gullatt officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at Harvest Center from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. hour of service.
He is survived by his children Toni Collins, Brittany Loveridge, Hannah Rackard (Caleb), Alex Adkins (Crystal); grandchildren Jocelyn Hendrix (Joel), Suzannah Rackard, Melina Rackard, Shyann Britt, and Nicolas Turkish; uncle Johnny Adkins; and several nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandsons Landon and Luke Rackard, sister Grace Matlock, and his parents.
