Funeral service for Mrs. Jalena Davis Holmes, age 83, of Decatur, will be Monday, October 28, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Ripley and Bro. Benny Sivley officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 27, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Holmes, who died Friday, October 25, 2013, at her residence, was born April 23, 1930, to Edgar and Lillian Davis of Lester, AL.
She is survived by her husband of 63 yrs, Lowell Holmes, sons, Don Holmes (Brenda) of Plano, TX and David Holmes (Gena) of Decatur, AL. Daughters, Neva Ransom (Jim) of Birchwood, TN and Patricia Tweedie of Chattanooga, TN. Brother Harold Davis of Lester, AL, sister Janette Mankins of Lester, AL and two sister-in-laws, Vonda”Pat”Holmes of Cullman and Linda Davis of Elkmont, AL. Eleven Granddaughters and 4 Great Granddaughters, Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Friends and family.
