Mr. Jaiden Rashad DeJarnettJaiden DeJarnett was born in Huntsville, AL to the parents of Salednika McKenzie and Jaquinci DeJarnett: He was a quiet spirit, loving and humble young man.

Jaiden matriculated in the public schools: Challenger Elementary, Monrovia Middle and Sparkman High School.

He attended Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church at a very early age. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

At an early age, he developed a liking for sports and played Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and Football where he received several awards. He was a participant in Karate where he received a yellow belt. In his spare time, he enjoyed music, playing video games and engaging in fun activities with his friends. As a teenager, Jaiden begin working in construction with his father, supporting the family business (Shark’s Fish and Chicken) and was formerly employed with Wal-Mart while still in school.

Preceded in death by his Maternal Grandmother, Marilyn McKenzie.

The precious memories of this priceless gift from God will live forever in the hearts of his loving and devoted mother, Salednika McKenzie (Harvest, AL) his father, Jaquinci DeJarnett (Huntsville, AL); sister, Jasmine Davis (Huntsville, AL); brother, Jordan DeJarnett (Huntsville, AL); grandparents, Reginald McKenzie (Huntsville, AL), Larry and Mary DeJarnett (Harvest, AL); great grandmother, Gloria Threatt (Sylacauga, AL); uncles: Larry DeJarnett Jr. and Desi McKenzie (both of Huntsville, AL); aunts: Catina DeJarnett (Huntsville, AL), Sharnika (Marrecus) Johnson (Norfolk, VA), Melanie Spidell (Detroit, MI) and Chantae McKenzie (Huntsville, AL); niece, Brooklynn Davis (Huntsville, AL); nephew, Blaise Davis (Huntsville, AL); Godparents, Nicole (Kerry) Blackmon (Harvest, AL) and Kimberly (Marcus) Vance (Athens, AL); God brothers, Rodrick Woods Jr (Harvest, AL) and      Arland Vance (Athens, AL); God sisters, I’dasha Woods (Harvest, AL) and Arianna Vance (Athens, AL); a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the Progressive Union Missionary Baptist Church (1919 Brandon Town Road, NW Huntsville, AL 35816) with Pastor Dion Watkins officiating and Elder Timothy Rainey as Eulogist. Interment will be in the Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023, and 9:00 until 11:00 a.m., Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the Royal Funeral Home.
