F.10.5.24Jacquie Ella Vaughn.jpg Jacquie “Jackie” Ella Vaughn, age 90, of Fayetteville, NC went to meet her Savior on September 16th at the Saint Luke Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.

Jacquie was born on February 15, 1934, to the late Earlee Thompson and Eva Mae Beckwith. Jacquie grew up in Florence, AL nurtured by family and friends. She joined Bethel Lauderdale Missionary Baptist Church where she gave her life to the Lord in her teens. She attended Burrell-Slater High School. While at Burrell she played basketball and was recently inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for never losing a game.

Jacquie was married to Master Sgt. Eugene Walter Vaughn, who predeceased her on January 21st, 1997. They had two children (Eugene Keith Vaughn of Durham, NC and Linda Vaughn Jones of Overland Park, KS) and a grandchild (Kol Nicole Jones of Kansas City, MO). Jacquie was a faithful member of Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she had many roles including greeter and choir member. Jacquie was a gifted professional seamstress, who used her skills to generate income and bless her community.

Jacquie’s funeral will be held at Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (viewing at 11 a.m. and funeral services at noon) on October 12, 2024. She will be buried beside her husband at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville, NC.
