Jacqueline Irving Hunt, age 89, of Florence, and a resident of Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home, went to be with her heavenly Father January 16, 2023. She was a native of Lauderdale County, a member of Cross Point Church of Christ, and an elementary school teacher. She taught in the Lauderdale County School system for 25 years with her last school being Wilson Elementary. After retirement, she worked at Forest Hills Library.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 12-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Frank Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Eric Turner, Trey Lane, Jimmy Safford, Brian Simonson, Sean Simonson, Josh Sharp, and Matthew Melton.
Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Hunt; son, James Edward Hunt, Jr.; sister, Josephine Stutts Irving; and parents, Frank Donald and Minnie Irving.
She is survived by her daughters, Martha Sue Safford (Tim) of Florence, Deborah Hunt Simonson (Brad) of New Orleans, LA, Jacqueline Kimberly Vinson (Robert) of Florence; grandchildren, Diana Turner (Eric) of Suwanee, GA, Julie Lane (Trey) of Florence, James Safford (Kayla) of Florence; Brian Simonson of New Orleans, LA, Sean Simonson of New Orleans, LA, Jessica Sharp (Josh) of Florence, Alexis Melton (Matthew) of Florence, and Bernadette Davis (Charles) of Myrtle Beach, FL; and great grandchildren, Harrison, Owen, and Elliott Turner, Hope, Faith, Joey and James Lane, Jameson and Greyson Stafford, Annabel, Alice, and Cillian Sharp, Rosie Melton, and Marisa and Julianna Davis.
