Jacob Louis Hubbard – Obituary

Memorial service for Jacob Louis Hubbard, 28, of Decatur will be Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church with Reverend Gary Formby and Reverend Mitchell Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. preceding the service. Jake passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Newport News, Virginia to his parents John and Tiki Hubbard. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Howard Louis Hubbard, Johnnie Faye Hubbard, Fred Satterfield Sr. and Jean Cothran Satterfield.
He is survived by his parents, John and Tiki Hubbard; brother, John Paul Hubbard; dear aunts, uncles and cousins and girlfriend Katie Amos. He also leaves behind his “rent a dogs” Hank and Amos.
Jake graduated from Austin High School in 2005, received a Bachelor’s in Science degree from Athens State University in 2014, and was employed by Whole Sale Pump and Supply. For a young man, Jake’s business development skills far exceeded his age. His skills and abilities in the pump and water well industry will be greatly missed. He was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church of Decatur.
Hubz’s hobbies included boating, music, spending time with friends on the Tennessee River, deep sea fishing, hunting and Auburn football. He is best remembered for his gregarious and outgoing personality, his contagious laugh, love for his friends and family and his love for life.
Jake was a beloved son, brother, nephew, and had many friends of all ages and walks of life. Special friends included Abby Vest, Peyton Johnson and Savanne Hammond.
In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate donations in his name to his favorite organizations, Ducks Unlimited or Alabama Wildlife Federation. Checks can be mailed to 1607 Eastwood Drive, SE, Decatur, AL 35601.
Honary pallbearers include John Paul Hubbard, Nathan Hulsey, Richard Wilder, Patrick Cordes, Chris Story, Caleb Story, Jackson Gamble, Kevin Grotlisch, Paul Hughes, Jody Whitt, Tommy Backe, Brent Burnthall and Tyron Newton.
