Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Arrest Two In Check Theft Case

JACKSON COUNTY-On Tuesday, January 26 the Jackson County sheriff’s Office issued a statement concerning the arrest of two suspects who have been charged with several felony charges:

“On January 24, 2021, members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division and Patrol Deputies arrested Marion L. Wallace age 29 of Scottsboro, AL and Jana Lee Fausz age 41 of Woodville, AL at a residence on Poplar Street in Scottsboro, AL. These arrests stemmed from an ongoing investigation involving the theft of checks from an 82 year old Scottsboro, AL man. Based on this investigation, Wallace and Fausz allegedly stole checks from the man and cashed checks, at least 35 times, at Walmart and several local banks. These transactions totaled $7,690.05. Additionally, both subjects were found to be in possession of Drug Paraphernalia at the time of their arrest.

Jana Lee Fausz

Fausz was charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument x 34, Theft of Property 1st degree, Identity Theft, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond for all charges have not yet been set. Fausz was also charged with two outstanding arrest warrants for Failure to Appear in Court.

Wallace was charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument x 1, Theft of Property 1st degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond for all charges have not yet been set.”
