Jackson Cainey Gatlin, 90, of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. Mr. Gatlin was born on February 7th, 1931, to Clyde Gatlin and Alma West Gatlin.
Mr. Gatlin is survived by his wife Willadean Gatlin; daughters Patricia Diane Cheatham (Wendell), Brenda Morell (Morris), and Peggy Putman (James); sons Donnie Gatlin (Barbara), Jackson Gatlin (Lanette), Phillip Gatlin, and Danny Moore; sisters Alma Jane Speers, and Marie Harbin; brother Lendle Gatlin; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Clyde Gatlin and Alma Gatlin; and brother Roy Carlton (Shorty) Gatlin.
Graveside services for Mr. Gatlin will be Saturday, June 26th, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Oakgrove Cemetery, with Wes Addison officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers for Mr. Gatlin are Jason Gatlin, Dustin Gatlin, Morris Morell, Jr., Derick Morell, Daniel Moore, A.J. Putman, Eddie Cheatham, and Jacob Smith. Burial will be at Oakgrove Cemetery.
