Jackie WeaverJackie Weaver, 71, passed away at home surrounded by beloved friends on March 26, 2025, in Huntsville, AL.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. and Virginia Odell Brazelton Abercrombie, and her brother Bobby B. Abercrombie, all of Arab, AL.

She is survived by her faithful partner and caregiver, Brenda Driskell, her beloved dogs Jackson and Izzy, and many cherished friends.  She is also survived by her “chosen children” James (Dixie) Gossett, Nancy (Greg) Dempsey, Susie (Greg) Tipton, and the Driskell family.

Jackie was born on January 11, 1954 in Arab, AL She graduated from Arab High School in 1972 and attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH).  She was a long time employee of Benchmark as a Material Manager and several other manufacturing companies. She retired from Pesa Electronics.

Jackie lived life to the fullest and was passionate about her friends, animals, and outdoor activities. Jackie was a good athlete and loved softball, bass fishing, boating, water skiing, golfing, and maintaining a well-manicured yard. Her favorite pastime was riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle with friends. She shared many good times with her best friends, Paula Ealy and Anita Whitaker, and made great memories doing life with these two. Jackie also loved spending time with Kathy Pierce and enjoyed time spent on a golf course. Many memories were made with her best childhood friend, Belinda (Johnny) Wilk,s and they remained close throughout their lives. There are too many other friends to name that she loved and cherished, but you know who you are.

She also adored her special fur babies, Coco, Baylee, and Journey Rose, who passed some time ago.

Special thanks to Aveanna Hospice. They were professional but compassionate.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, you may consider a donation in her name to the charity of your choice. She supported Wounded Warriors, Tunnel to Towers, St. Jude, and local animal shelters.

She truly lived life her way and is now riding free.

Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
