Jackie Thomas Peoples, age 51, of Winfield, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 01, 2023, in Galveston, TX.
Jackie was born on June 02, 1972, in Jasper, Alabama. He had worked for years as a nationally accredited funeral director and embalmer, having worked at Greenview Funeral Home, Morrisons Funeral Home, Spry Memorial Chapel, Marion County Funeral Home, as well as several others.
He changed careers and became a long-haul truck driver, and he loved his job. He was an owner operator who was dispatched by RDX in Memphis. He loved being on the road with his traveling buddies, two dachshunds, Diesel and Thor. During his off times, he enjoyed being at home with Cissy and their pets at home, Champ, Poncho, and Sasha, loved riding his motorcycle, an Indian Scout he had decked out, and simply hanging out with his family. He was a hardworking man who loved his wife, sons, and granddaughter beyond measure. In everything Jackie did, he made numerous friends, and everyone was drawn to his outgoing, fun loving personality. He loved listening to ZZ Top, AC/DC, and Kenny Chesney, but spent the most time listening to FOX News of all things. Even though he spent countless hours on the road, he made sure to stay close to Cissy, the boys, Aunt Bonnie, and so many more. His passing has left such a void in our lives, and we will cherish his memory forever.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Chambless, grandparents, A.T. & Helen Chambless, Pete & Violet Peoples; and uncle, Paul Edward Chambless.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his adored wife of five years, Elizabeth Cissy Peoples; his much loved sons, Drake Thomas Peoples, Carson Hue Peoples (Kathryn), Jackson Gage Peoples, Griffin Miller Peoples (Elizabeth); precious granddaughter, Oakley Peoples; sister, Presha Winner; brothers, Teddy Armstrong, Mark Peoples, Randle Peoples, Johnathon Peoples; aunt, Bonnie Roberts; uncles, Ric & Jane Chambless, Ronald & Anna Chambless; several other uncles, aunts, cousins, several nieces & nephews; and a host of friends.
