Jackie Robinson, resident of Huntsville since 1963, passed away on Sunday March 10th. She was 87 years old and is survived by her two sons Mark S. Robinson of Pelham, AL and Brian G. Robinson of Santa Rosa, California. She is remembered as a beloved wife to Floyd, mother to Mark and Brian, daughter of Tressie and Howard Lee Byram, sister to Dwayne Byram and friend to many.

Jackie was born on April 19, 1936, in Russellville, AL, and grew up in a small family with her mother, father and brother near Iuka, MS. She married Johnny Floyd Robinson in 1958, and they had two sons. Jackie was a loving wife and mother, who was committed to her family. She also had a lengthy career as a secretary and administrative assistant for Northrop Grumman during her final years of employment.

Jackie was a woman of faith who lived by Christian principles of grace, forgiveness, kindness, and acceptance. She was a longstanding member of Whitesburg Baptist Church where she was very involved in Sunday school activities and outreach.

A graveside service for Jackie will be held on Thursday, March 14th at 1:00 at Huntsville Memorial Gardens on Highway 72.

Jackie’s final days were spent at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville and the family encourages you to learn about this amazing resource and support it through donations.
