Jackie Newton HaddockJackie Newton Haddock, known to his loved ones as Jack, passed away on November 5, 2023, at the age of 85 in Madison, Alabama. He was born on August 1, 1938, in Falkville, Morgan County, Alabama to William Edca Haddock and Janie Hayes Haddock. Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his siblings William “Bill” Haddock, Earnest “Bud” Haddock, and Jane Ramsey.

Jackie will be fondly remembered for his generosity, infectious smile, hearty laugh, and his unwavering love for his family. He had a deep passion for helping others and dedicated his life to lending a helping hand whenever he could.

In his professional life, Jackie had an illustrious career. He served as the Systems Operations Manager at Amoco Chemicals BP Chemicals Plant in Decatur, Alabama, from 1968 to 1997. Additionally, he was the proud owner of H & H Storm Windows and Evans Awning Co. from 1978 to 1988. Later, he ventured into the field of home construction as Jackie Haddock Home Builder from 1986 to 1994 in Decatur, Alabama.

Outside of work, Jackie enjoyed several hobbies. He found joy in building and renovating homes for himself and others, fishing, and traveling to the beautiful mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee with his beloved wife Dorothy.

Jackie was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama.

Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy M. Haddock, their daughters, Donna Apple (Jeff) and Daphna Ellison (Marty), two grandsons, one granddaughter, two great-granddaughters, and his sister Jean Walters of Fleming Island, Florida. He also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces who will cherish his memory.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no memorial service for Jackie, and he will be cremated. Contributions in his honor can be made to The American Heart Association and The Lung Association.

The Ridout Browns Service Funeral Home in Decatur, Alabama, is assisting the family with the arrangements during this difficult time.

Jackie Newton Haddock will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May his kind and generous spirit live on in our hearts forever.
