Jackie Lloyd Bryant, 85, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Southern Magnolia Estates in Iuka. Jackie was a member of Iuka United Methodist Church and was the former mayor of the City of Iuka. He was a National Guard veteran and was formerly employed as a foreman at Tennessee River Pulp and Paper Mill. He was devoted to his grandchildren and enjoyed auctions and gospel music and singings. He also enjoyed going on vacation and waving at friends while sitting on his front porch. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Burnette Bryant; three children, Teresa Darwin, Keith Bryant, and Lisa Locke (Jerry); three grandchildren, Nikki Clark (Nathaniel), Beth Huntley (Ryan), and Logan Locke; five great-grandchildren, Alex Clark, Andy Clark, McCarthy Bryant, Mollie Bryant, and Stokes Huntley; one sister, Linda Bryant Dexter (Bobby); and one step-sister, Sue Bryant Swim. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Helen Rice Bryant; a sister, Peggy Dexter; a grandson, Jay Darwin; a granddaughter, Kinsley Darwin; and a son-in-law, James Samuel “Sammy” Darwin. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 25, at Iuka United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Kerry Powell and Rev. Harrell Moore. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Randy Stringer, Joel Robertson, Barney Dick, James “Kissum” Grisham, Johnny Southward, and J. C. Johnson. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 24, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Southern Magnolia Estates and Kindred Hospice for their special love and care.
