Jackie Lee Caskey – Obituary

jackieJackie Lee Caskey, 71 of Daviston, Al, formerly of Haleyville, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Lakeland Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Caskey was born on December 26, 1942. Jackie served in the United States Army for 3 years. He attended Daviston Independent Methodist Church and was a 1960 graduate of Morgan County High School in West Liberty, Kentucky. Jackie was a hard worker who had many skills and multiple trades, which included welding, heavy equipment operator, mechanic, and business owner. He enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, caring for his dogs, hunting, fishing, watching boxing and loved to bowl. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jackie was a man of few words and had a big heart.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 6-9pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 2pm. Burial will follow in Sunny Home Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Glenn Bridgmon will officiate.

Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sue Callahan Caskey; daughter, Beverly (Steve) Elkins; brother, Charles Bev (Pauletta) Caskey; sister, Betty Mae Nelson. He was “Pawpaw” to two grandchildren, Jonathan Kyle (Treasure Fell) Elkins, Elizabeth Suzanne (Johnnie D) Melton and three great grandchildren, Averie Leigh Elkins, Jacob Dylan Melton and Madison Lynn Elkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Avery and Pearl Fyffe Caskey.

Pallbearers are Keith Elkins, Doyle Elkins, Donnie Aderholt, Tim Wykoff, Glen Wells,Elbert Elkins and Gene Hulsey.
