Jackie Leatherwood Bazzel of Decatur passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the age of 76. Mrs. Bazzel was born in Jefferson County, Alabama to John Hopkins Leatherwood and Alma Graham Leatherwood. She was retired from Aramark Uniform Services and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bazzel loved her family, Elvis and Alabama football. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma Leatherwood; husband, William Wade Bazzel and sisters, Betty Downes and Beatrice Pakula.
Mrs. Bazzel is survived by her children, Pam Keenum (David) and Karen Schafer (Randy); grandchildren, Brandy Stephens (Matt), Nicole Osborne (Michael Pepper), Wade Schafer, Lauren Schafer and Josh Schafer; great-grandchildren, Colter Moore, Ava Stephens and Natalie Stephens; sisters, Patricia Jacobs and Martha Graham (Jimmy) and brother, Michael Leatherwood (Paula).
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with a time of visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. The Rev. Zeke Haselden will be officiating the service.
