SFC (Ret’d) Jackie Curtis Barnett, Sr., 76, of Burnsville, MS died Thursday, October 20, 2016, in Rossville, TN. Mr. Barnett was a member and Deacon of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. He was a retired Sergeant First Class of the U.S. Army Reserve and the Mississippi National Guard, serving 29 years. He also served two years as a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Barnett was a member of the Iuka American Legion Post #15. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Monday, October 24, 2016, at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church in Rienzi, officiated by Elder Cecil Woodruff. The body will lie in state one hour before service time. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his daughter, Marcella Camp of Byhalia, MS; his sons, Robert E. Barnett and Jackie Barnett, Jr. both of Burnsville, MS; two sisters, Janice Franklin and Joyce Rodgers both of Rossville, TN; 3 brothers, Clinton Barnett of Iuka, MS, Harold Barnett of Gulfport, MS, and Paul Barnett of Memphis, TN; and four grandchildren, Ryan Barnett, Leanne Kostyak, Devon Hill and Rhonda Hill.
