Jack Waddell Harrison, Sr., age 85 of Muscle Shoals, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017. His visitation will be Friday, May 5, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Mark McCullar officiating. The burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Jack was born in Tuscumbia and grew up in Cherokee. He graduated from Cherokee High School where he enjoyed playing football and went on to graduate college from Florence State University. He became a Claims Manager for Crawford & Co. where he started out in Florence and moved to Asheville, NC, Stanton, VA, Kansas City, KA, Witchita, KA, and finally Omaha, NE, where he retired and returned to the Shoals. Jack was a member of the Methodist Church and a 23rd Degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his son, Jack Waddell Harrison, Jr.; parents, Samuel and Elizabeth Harrison; brother, Wyatt V. Harrison; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Harrison.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy Jane Lowry Harrison; sons, James C. Harrison and John R. Harrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Harrison, John Harrison, Joe Harrison, Steve Harrison, Brent McGregory, and Chad McGregory.
