Mr. Jack Townsend III, age 57, of Dora passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at his residence. Graveside services will be 1:30 PM Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Bethel Cemetery in Dora. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Townsend graduated from Minor High School in 1981. He was team captain of his football team his senior year. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to go skiing. As a teacher, he loved to work with troubled children. He attended Jacksonvllle State and Sanford Universities. He graduated from UAB with an academic standing on the Deans List.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Jack Townsend Sr. and Grace Townsend, and Charles Cook and Ester Cook.
Survivors include his parents, Jack Townsend Jr. and Judy Townsend; and sister, Kathy Hawkins (Ed).
