Funeral service for Jack Sandlin age 87 of Somerville will be Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 1:00pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Penn and Brother Ryan Childers officiating with burial in the Turney Cemetery in Somerville with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Sandlin, who died on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Cullman Regional Medical Center, was born on June 6, 1927 in Danville, Alabama to Lester Cecil Sandlin and Lola Ledale Rogers Sandlin. He was a member of the Grace Point Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a son; Lee B. Sandlin, a sister; Imogene King.
He is survived by his wife; Willodyne Mooneyham Sandlin, a son; Lance Wayne Sandlin (Teresa) of Somerville, a brother; Edward L. Sandlin (Gail) of Athens, 2 sisters; Joann McPherson (Jimmy) and Jane McAbee both of Athens. Twin Granddaughters; Emily Northington of Atlanta and Erin Franks of Akron, Ohio, 2 great grandchildren; Lily Jane Franks and Jack Aaron Franks.
Fred King, Ray King, Jeffrey King, Allen Sandlin, Markham Sharp and Keith Turney will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family request Memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
