Jack S. Watson, age 90 of Huntland, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020 at his residence. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Huntland on January 18, 1930 to the late Jack and Annie (Stovall) Watson. Before his retirement, Jack was employed in the timber industry as a logger. When he was able, Jack enjoyed gardening, camping, and riding four-wheelers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dwight Watson; and siblings, Mildred Fanning, Bill Watson, Blanch Steakley, Dorothy Douglas, Arline Dotson, Nelle Turnes, Ralph Watson, Buford Watson, and Dewey Watson . He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty-nine years, Clara Watson; daughter, Jacqueline (Richard) Atkinson of Belvidere; grandson, James (Carie) Atkinson; granddaughter, Kristie (Jimmy) Latham; and great-grandchildren, Clara Latham, William Latham, Jack Latham, Ethan Latham, Daisy Latham, and Micah Atkinson. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 15, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Ron Arrick officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
