Jack P. Nelson, age 100, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, at his home. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 03, 2024, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Tim Warren will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
Mr. Nelson was a WWII Naval veteran; he was a member of Eastside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was an Alabama fan and enjoyed watching the games with his daughter Karen. He is preceded in death by his wife Aileen Nelson; granddaughter, Shayla; parents Thomas and Annie Nelson; 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Mr. Nelson is survived by his daughter Karen (Gary) Holcomb and Mary Munn; his cat, Crimson Nicole, and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the Pruett’s Barbeque crew for loving and taking care of him. Enhabit Hospice & Home Health, Key Advantage, Eastside Baptist Church and everyone who prayed, called, brought food by and visited.
Pallbearers will be Josh Russell, Jerry Jones, Tony Gray, Trent Gray, Tim White and Steve Miliotti.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard O’Neal, Tommy Nelson and Nick Nelson.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 03, 2024.
