Funeral service for Jack Neal Young will be Monday, July 8, 2013, at noon, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Agee and Bro. Neil Carter officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at Landersville Cemetery. Jack was born November 23, 1932, in Lawrence County to Willian and Edna Young at Landersville. He died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Lawrence Medical Center. He graduated from Larence County High School and attended Florence State College with a Master’s Degree in Accounting. He worked as an accountant for WAFF-TV Channel 48 for many years until his retirement. He was the 1st Big Brother match in North Alabama and was on the Founding Board of Big Brothers-Big Sisters of North Alabama. Jack served in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; sister, Mary Helen Jackson; and brother, Arthur R. (Bob) Young.
He is survived by his daughters, Vicky Henley and Cheryl Hartline; son, Mike Young, all of Florida; stepsons, Marlin and Jeff Hargett of North Carolina; sisters, Faye Rutherford (pete) of Landserville, Maye Day (Bobby) of Decatur, Jane Rains (Billy), Joan Lang, Ann Black (Donnie) and Ruth Mardis; brother, Jerry Young (Shirley) and David Young (Glenda), all of Moulton.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Day, Billy Rains, Donnie Black, Larry Jackson, Eddie Rains, Bob Lang, Randy Rutherford and Bill Rutherford.
