Jack launched his own business, Sharp’s Seamless Gutters, with the help of his wife, Patricia, in 1970, and was owner/operator for 42 years until he retired in 2011.

Jack was an avid sportsman and sports fan. He loved hunting and fishing with his brother, Tiny, his grandchildren, his son-in-law, Rich, and his best friends, B.W. and Steve. He loved the St Louis Cardinals, Alabama Crimson Tide Football and Dr. Pepper.

Besides his family and sports, Jack loved his dogs. It was rare to see him without a dog by his side or in his lap. For the past few years, his best buddy has been Woody, a rescue dog, who gave Jack great comfort the last couple of years as he struggled with Alzheimer’s disease and most recently a terminal diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Jack was an extremely loving man who was always proud of his children and grandchildren.

Jack’s celebration of life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Wright and Salmon Mortuary. Visitation will be two hours before the service. Cremation rites have been accorded.
