Jack Aaron Farris – Obituary

Jack Aaron Farris, 75, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at his home. He was born August 9, 1937, to Jessie Troy and Jimmie Lee Trammel Farris. He worked at Rockwell, Super Sagless, and Tupelo Tool and Dye and owned and operated, along with his wife, Tishtontee Cafe and Game Room in Mantachie. He was part-owner of East Main Stamping Manufacturing in Tupelo. He was currently a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was formerly a member of Lakeland Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and billiards and was especially a devoted father.

Services will be at 1 p. m. Friday, May 17, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Buddy Rushing and Bro. Ronald Franks officiating. Burial will be in the Fawn Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include four sons, Mike Farris (Wanda) and Larry Wayne Farris (Tonya), both of Dorsey, and Scotty Farris and Tim Farris (Marsha), both of Mantachie; three sisters, Wanda Cantrell and Ernestine Elliff, both of Tupelo, and Avanell Sewell of Ocean Springs; six grandchildren, James Farris, Tasha Enis, Eric Farris (A.K.), Alex Farris, Lee Michael Farris (Tanya), and Christopher Wayne Farris (Amanda); two step-grandsons, J. T. Roberts and Zachary Roberts; nine great-grandchildren, Elijah Farris, Matthew Farris, Carly Roberts, Cassidy Roberts, Kayla Farris, Ally Farris, Cameron Thompson, Landon Thompson, and Aleah Thompson; a special friend and caregiver, Betty Harris, of Tupelo; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Joyce Farris, on October 3, 1994; one brother, J. T. Farris; three sisters, Maxine Westmoreland, Quanna Witt, and Betty Jean Farris; one granddaughter, Leesa Gray; and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Terry Farris, Lee Farris, Ricky Metcalf, Shane Metcalf, James Farris, and Eric Farris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Elliff and Chris Farris.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Thursday, May 16, at the funeral home.
