J. D. Inman was born June 8, 1938 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Cuba and Nelia Lipford Inman.
He was united in marriage to Ruby Faye Vires on June 23, 1956. Mrs. Inman preceded him in death on July 11, 2012.
J.D. was dedicated to his family, job and business. He was the owner of Inman Bros. Auto Sales, Wrecker and Service Center for over 47 years. Prior to that, he was an officer for the Selmer Police Department, owned Sherry’s Bake Shop and Tracie’s Auto Sales.
Mr. Inman departed this life on November 15, 2015 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 5 Months, 7 Days. He is survived by two daughters, Sherry Inman King and husband Greg, Tracie Inman Whitaker and husband Tony all of Selmer, TN; four grandchildren, Albert Clayton, Allison Glidewell and husband Gillis, Jake Whitaker and wife Emily, Maggie Whitaker; a great-granddaughter, Raelyn Faye Glidewell; two sisters, Marie Shelton of Selmer, TN, Dorothy Nichols of Corinth, MS; three brothers, Loyce Inman of Selmer, TN, Jerry Inman and wife Peggy of Guys, TN, Larry Inman and wife Jan of Selmer, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Inman was preceded in death by three brothers, Loyd, Tom, and Robert Inman.
